• Your family will enjoy completing many different activity stations together. 
• Bring your camera.  There will be costumed characters to pose with your child for pictures.
• Each child attending may choose a FREE book to take home to keep.
• Both of the public libraries will provide a story time during the evening. 

April Fun Club

April Fun Club is Book Bucks Night.

This is the night to spend the book bucks your family has earned this year.  If you haven't been attending Fun Club, don't worry, you will earn 10 book bucks to spend when you join us in April.

You can use your Book Bucks to "purchase" new and used books, school supplies and small toys.  We will also be serving one (1) slice of pizza to Head Start parents and  their children.

Read At Home

Heartland Head Start children and their families are "Buggy for Books!"

So far this year our families have read 22,548 books with our Read At Home program.  We are well on our way to reaching our goal of reading over 26,000 books.

March Fun Club--MY BOOK night

Bring your pictures from home and your creativity to Fun Club this month.  You and your child will be making your very own memory book.

We will have all the supplies you need to make this book which will be treasured for years to come by you and your child.

Unit 5 Schools Kindergarten Registration

If your child will be age 5 on or before September 1, 2013 and will attend a Unit 5 school, be sure to register your child at your school.

Check your child's book bag for the registration times for each Unit 5 school and the list of items you should bring to registration.

District 87 Kindergarten Registration

Children who are age 5 on or before September 1, 2013 will be eligible for enrollment in kindergarten. 

Parents must call the school that the child will attend to make an appointment to register the child for kindergarten.

Read At Home

5358 Books Read in December 2012

Heartland Head Start families reported reading 5358 books in December with our Read At Home program.  The grand total for books read so far this school year is 17,986.  We are well on our way to reaching our goal of reading over 25,000 books before the end of the school year.

If you have not turned in your Read At Home calendar you may still do so and the books will be added to next month's totals.
